Christians, look at the world we live in

Lies, deceit, everyone with their own opinion

Watch and see, they like to speak

Thinking and planning not knowing they are weak

This Corona Virus like Kobe’s death has brought this world to a halt

Either making people indifferent, careless, or fearful trying to find someone at fault

The public unsettled, trying to make sense, patience beginning to run thin

Christians, look at the world we live in

People ask why? Can’t your God stop this?

It’s in these desperate times people begin to question instead of pray

Or pray to someone up there in the midst of this world’s decay

Christians, look at the world we live in

I find myself looking at the news and media and like the world being swayed

Corona Virus, politics, natural disasters, it’s beginning to feel like God’s interference is delayed

But may we not be dismayed, God is working and wastes nothing

He is just setting the scene

Christians, look at the world we live in

Not with eyes of the world, but with spiritual eyes

Knowing we have a hope that cannot be shaken

Knowing that Jesus is redeeming all that is lost and giving a peace that cannot be taken

Cling to the cross that saves and gives life

Pray for those who are ill, broken, and hurt by the sin that causes strife

Pray for the missionaries, health care providers, for your neighbor

This world is yearning for its maker, its redeemer, its savior

Christians, look at the world we live in

There are people who are dead in spirit trying to find meaning to all of this

Some worried, fearful, hurt, or shaking their fist

Asking what is the point of all of this?

We do not have all the answers, but we know it doesn’t end here

We have a God in full control, nothing goes unnoticed- He sees, knows every tear

He is holy and perfect in every way- His goodness, love, grace, mercy and justice

To Him all glory is deserved and One who can be trusted

Christians, look at the world we live in

They need the hope of Christ, far too long people are trying to do it on their own

Be salt, be light, and point them to our savior who sits on his throne

Jesus died and rose for them, don’t rob them of an opportunity to be truly loved and known

Christians, look at the world we live in

It’s chaotic and in need of saving grace

Keep living in light of eternity as we run this race

By God’s grace and empowered by the Holy Spirit, be the hope the world needs to see

Be bold, strong and courageous and everything God has called us to be

Christians, look at the world we live in

It feels like the end, but this is where hope can begin.
